Copyright is the legal right that one holds when one creates or designs intellectual property preventing anyone else to copy the product. On the other hand fair use gives people the right to use parts of copyrighted products under certain circumstances. I would deal with these concepts as a teacher by following copyright restrictions but also trying to use material from outside sources as much as I could using fair use when developing instruction materials. With students, I would educate them on what copyright and fair use is and encourage them to follow by these concepts as closely as possible so they are ready for using these concepts outside of class.
Academic dishonesty is a major issue for schools with the implementation of technology because of how accessible information can be during activities that requires only student knowledge. I would propose that students have to run the honorlock software during important tests and quizzes so their screens are locked and don't have the ability to move to any other tab but where the test or quiz is. Decreased productivity is another major issue for schools with the implementation of technology because children and young adults are naturally drawn to using cellphones or computers during times where they need to focus on class work. My solution to this issue is to prohibit cell phones and monitor their school computers during class.
New skills that acquired from the Newsletter Design assignment were how to create a banner, how to form columns, and how to put graphics on the word document. In the future I can improve my newsletter by having less white space and put more designs on the document to make the newsletter more full. I also want to add more information in a more organized manner in the future. The skills I learned in this assignment can be used in my future career to create newsletter for hopefully my own class or other decorative documents.
