New skills that I have acquired from working on the Web Design assignment were all those that went into making a website because I have never created a website before. I liked the creative side of the assignment getting to pick the aesthetic of the website that best embodies my personality. I disliked making up information that is not true, but when teaching a class that will no longer be an issue. In the future I hope to create a website that is easy to use for students and parents of my class establishing an open network between the home and classroom.

New skills I learned from working with Diigo are how to save and bookmark websites to share with others. In the classroom this program can be useful to share carefully selected websites with students for the purposes of bringing education to the digital age. Similarly with how it is useful with students, it is useful for team members because of its ability to share reliable websites and blog journals to share ideas and ways of teaching. For my individual professional efforts I could use Diigo to organize and keep my favorite websites saved for later use.

Teachers are continuously developing trying to stay up to date with the best ways to educate the youth effectively. Educators are not given instructions on what to do but must find their own resources for the students benefit. Staying aware of changes and the rights and wrongs of the technology being used in class which can be difficult on top of the other responsibilities of a teacher. A website like the one linked below could be a great resource for educators trying to stay up to date with new technology they could use in the classroom.

The light color scheme and intriguing fonts make the site attractive. The resources you provide for the academic games and student/ parent resources are all reliable site and provide subject specific content. Overall great work!

  2. Hey Amanda,
Your website looks great first off!! Its designed well and the contrast is perfect with not too many white or light colors. The resources were all helpful and listed in a bulleted list which makes it easy for them to navigate through. Its all aligned well and the headings make sense the way they are ordered.

after looking at your website design I believe this was made for you. Everything flowed well together it was visually pleasing and not over-the-top.I like to believe that simplicity will win every time because its almost impossible to go wrong. All the links opened up properly and worked freely with the rest of the webpage.
