My experience as a distance learner is a good one, I do not have many complaints and has been useful with the pandemic. I enjoy the flexibility that comes with distance learning because you can be productive no matter your location. I dislike how little personal connection and personal instruction there is because I like to have someone personally explain lessons step by step. Instead, I find myself teaching myself topics that I would not need to if I was not distance learning. When a teacher, I hope to keep a personal connection with students even with distance learning.
Open educational resources (OER) are freely accessible, openly licensed text, media, and other digital assets that are useful for teaching, learning, and assessing as well as for research purposes. An example of this is a resource called 20/20 Vision where students can calculate their own eyesight using this program. They learn about technologies to enhance eyesight and how engineers play an important role in development of these technologies. This could inspire children to have a desire to get into the engineer workforce and give them the opportunity to try it out.

New skills that I have acquired from working on the two power point assignments are action/ navigation buttons and sound effects on transitions. The action/ navigation buttons are useful especially when presenting to children to have an easy way to move from one slide to the next. Sound effects on transitions is a fun way to add something entertaining to a presentation that may not be as exciting for children. Next time I hope to improve my skills with being better with recording my presentation for distance learners.
