Blog Journal 10     I think I will use data collection such as survey tools as a teacher by asking questions about how they feel about class content. Receiving feedback from students is important because if none of the students are connecting with how the teacher is teaching the material then something needs to change from the educators standpoint. For example if I am fourth grade teacher going over a reading comprehension lesson and I decide to have the class popcorn read a book. But I put out a survey asking how the class feels about that and the entire class says that gives them too much anxiety and takes away from the focus of the lesson then I will have to readjust the plan.      I found the topics of distance learning and the experience of creating a website design very interesting because all the different perspectives. Everyone likes and dislikes different things about distance learning and its intriguing to compare and contrast my experience from others. I found it difficult

Blog Journal 9     My experience as a distance learner is a good one, I do not have many complaints and has been useful with the pandemic. I enjoy the flexibility that comes with distance learning because you can be productive no matter your location. I dislike how little personal connection and personal instruction there is because I like to have someone personally explain lessons step by step. Instead, I find myself teaching myself topics that I would not need to if I was not distance learning. When a teacher, I hope to keep a personal connection with students even with distance learning.      Open educational resources (OER) are  freely accessible, openly licensed text, media, and other digital assets that are useful for teaching, learning, and assessing as well as for research purposes. An example of this is a resource called 20/20 Vision where students can calculate their own eyesight using this program. They learn about technologies to enhance eyesight and how engineers play a

I liked the creative side of the assignment getting to pick the aesthetic of the website that best embodies my personality. I disliked making up information that is not true, but when teaching a class that will no longer be an issue. In the future I hope to create a website that is easy to use for students and parents of my class establishing an open network between the home and classroom.  http://mscardclass.weebly.com/     New skills I learned from working with Diigo are how to save and bookmark websites to share with others. In the classroom this program can be useful to share carefully selected websites with students for the purposes of bringing education to the digital age. Similarly with how it is useful with students, it is useful for team members because of its ability to share reliable webs

There is a schedule for the week making it so the expectations are clear for students and parents for the week ahead. Classroom expectations are located in the row of resources which is important for families to understand so their students can be in the best environment possible. Also, the teacher added their contact information, so if families do have questions or problems they know exactly how to reach the instructor.      I envision myself using technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities more efficiency and effectively by creating a direct line from myself, the teacher, to families and students at home. Putting information and resources on a website will allow students to be able to work and study concepts at home and get their family involved in the learning. Specifically, I want to put all the copies of presentations and c

Blog Post #5     I have never had a Twitter account until this class, so I have no early experiences with the application. If I were to have Twitter prior I would use the social media to interact with friends, colleagues, and even some businesses. It would have been beneficial to use with finding jobs, finding relevant information, and seeing friends' activity. Twitter might be helpful with a future career by staying in the know and having the ability to stand out to other possible hiring companies.      The digital divide is a term that is used for the gap between people with access to technology and people who do not have access to technology. This affects students' success in school because education is reaching a new virtual level especially with the COVID-19 pandemic where all classes were virtual for months. Students are left with no real solutions to the issue of not having the proper technology because it not all schools have the resources to supply their students wit

For this the student will have to be able to make graphs, timelines, video/ media albums, charts, spreadsheets, and a word processing software all online. I feel prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill set. This is because I have been able to develop all these tools to contribute to my school work in the past to connect diverse information to my subject material.      The resource that I found for the English Arts subject are detailed, visual tutorials based off of subject matter for the class. I have found that sometimes with certain concepts a teacher is not able to get the student to understand that concept. For example, paraphrasing is something a student may really struggle with grasping and the teacher has tried everything to assist the student. This

On the other hand fair use gives people the right to use parts of copyrighted products under certain circumstances. I would deal with these concepts as a teacher by following copyright restrictions but also trying to use material from outside sources as much as I could using fair use when developing instruction materials. With students, I would educate them on what copyright and fair use is and encourage them to follow by these concepts as closely as possible so they are ready for using these concepts outside of class.     Academic dishonesty is a major issue for schools with the implementation of technology because of how accessible information can be during activities that requires only student knowledge. I would propose that students have to run the honorlock software during important tests and quizzes so their screens are lo
